No. It's a walk-up to the 2nd floor.
They do, but it is only a slight step up from a package of top ramen
This place was a treat! Very light, delicate tempura. It's on the second floor, so a little tricky to find the door for the walk up, but once you do, you're in on the secret.
Very tasty, affordable, interior not particularly slick
This is the best place in Corning for sushi. She is only open for lunch. The setting is very basic, no frills, simple tables and chairs. But the food is extremely fresh and made right in front of you in a small kitchen. Had many great lunch meetings there. The restaurant is upstairs and the door is hard to find, but highly worth it!
Good and quick lunch, cash only
Wonderful little Japanese lunch box.Masako runs it herself, and the food is excellent. My favorites are the sashimi sushi, and the tempura.Best kept secret on market street!
Quite an experience. Entrance from the street is obscure, up a flight of stairs. Authentic Japanese cooking prepared by a woman who has been making this food this way all her life, it seems. Homey, comfortable and not fancy, open only for lunch on weekdays. Walk off the meal by exploring Corning's trendy Market Street neighborhood.
If you are looking good, fast and inexpensive Japanese common food, this is your place. I have traveled to many places around the globe. Outside of Japan, this is my favorite Japanese restaurant. The interior may not look perfect comparing it to the many corporate style american chains restaurants but the food makes up for any of the perceived negatives.
Curry rice was not a good choice.
Amazing restaurant. By far one of my favorite in town, however it is a little hard to find. The owner is a sweet lady, and the food is great. Highly recommend if you're sick of store bought sushi/Asian food.
Adorable little spot, kind of a secret.
Great hidden gem on market Street. Very authentic and delicious dishes.
Always delicious. Authentic and quality food every visit is outstanding!
This restaurant provides fantastic homeatyle Japanese cooking.
Masako loves us and we love her food!
We had a wonderful experience here.
Authentic japanese, pure comfort food. The pork udon is to die for. The sushi is the best sushi in the area, it comes in on Wed afternoon and is gone by Saturday. This is my favorite place on market street.
I have been to Bento Ya Masako many times. It is by far one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always amazing, and very authentic. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine!
If you are fortunate enough to be available when they are open, you need to go here. The experience alone is worth going. It's an added bonus that the food is always amazing.
This isn’t one of those high-end Japanese places in Manhattan (not that it is trying to be), but it offers authentic Japanese home-style cooking at a super affordable price. The bottom line is, this may be the only real Japanese place in Twin Tiers.
I know they have really great food here.but I am unable to access the place as it is on the second floor and I use a wheelchair to get around.
Authentic Japanese food. Great service--owner was very friendly! We enjoyed a quick, flavorful, yet highly satisfying lunch. Highly recommend.
I was ate there for the first time today. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, both the quality of the food and the atmosphere. The lady who works there is absolutely pleasant and gives off a good vibe. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t eat here. I will absolutely become a repeat customer 😋
Always 5 STARS! My FAVORITE place to eat in Corning! Authentic and delicious!
You will experience a restaurant in a deep country side of Japan. Food was not great, but ok for lunch.
Great little japanese restaurant. The decor is a bit rough around the edges but the food more than makes up for it. Cash only, and opens only for lunch on some weekdays.
The atmosphere is so comfy and homey for real. The food is stellar and the prices are cheap especially for the amount of food you’re given. Definitely my favorite Japanese restaurant I’ve been to. The owner is so sweet and attentive. Even while cooking everything she will grab anything you ask for.
Tasty wholesome food and a great staff
I used to be a college student in the area and I would always try to go here atleast once a week. This food is amazing and a hidden gem among the other restaurants on the street. The food portions are generally big, healthy, tasty, and served by the owner who's extremely nice. If anything, words can't Express my passion for this restaurant so if you're in the area and want a good night's lunch then look no further because this place will take care of you.
Good food $ frendly staff
The best home cooking in Corning the place feels like you are at families home for a nice classic meal no mater what you get.
Great food; homey, authentic atmosphere; and points for Japanese food that is not only sushi!! However, half of us were done eating by the time the other half got their food! This might have been okay, if we had been expecting it. Actually, I think we could have been more prepared in general by the staff ("Have you eaten here before? Just order at the counter and we'll bring out the food in the order it is ready. Feel free to ask me any questions about the menu") That way, newcomers don't feel awkward for assuming this charming location is like other restaurants. Thanks for a great lunch spot, can't wait to come back!
Rustic, but very good food.
Though I have personally been in for lunch only twice before, my husband often stops in when he can to get sukiyaki as takeout for me. It's by far my favorite thing to eat, locally. Though the humble restaurant is tucked away on Market Street in Corning, it's worth discovering if you have the time.
I went here years ago, but the experience still stays with me. Every time I'm in the area I try to make it here. This is by far the best sushi I've had, ever.
I go here every chance inn in Corning!
Real Japanese cooking in a "over the store" kitchen in Downtown Corning. Masako is assisted by a Young Man doing prep but, She is an masterful chef.
My favorite restaurant in town! Masako is the most amazing cook. I love everything I've tried here, but especially the yakisoba and yakitori. I've been coming here for over a decade and the quality is consistent and always great.
So so yummy! Hidden little secret that does not disappoint !
Good honest food at good prices... But the best miso soup I have ever had
Best home cooked Japanese in Corning. Only open for lunch.
Wonderful place, great food! It is a great way to get a taste of a different culture!! Love it!
Stopped in Corning on the way home from Canada to NJ. Had lunch at Bento ya Masako. Go for the food and not for the ambiance at this second story walk-up and then take a stroll in downtown Corning. A perfect stop.
OMG, stop reading and go.....just go right now!
Delicious and authentic.
The best Japanese food I've had since leaving Japan.
I have lived in Corning for ten years and I have never been until today. Absolutely the best Sushi I have had in a long time and really good price for the quality. My husband and I both enjoyed it immensely
Good meal!!! Wish they had a bebit machine
Great food, clean, friendly, good service
Fresh and hot, excellent flavors, super pleasant
Very good, authentic Japanese food for an amazing price. Portions are generous and the staff are always super nice and friendly. Restaurant is small but always clean. One of my favorite places on market street.
